Sintomas:

A princípio não apresenta sintomas visíveis no grão. As larvas penetram no grão e alimentam-se do interior deles. Durante a pupação a larva constrói uma câmara rente ao revestimento da semente, formando uma área translúcida. É uma praga que ataca grãos inteiros, reduzindo o peso e a qualidade dos mesmos.
